In many countries, overcrowded cities face a major problem. This has been mainly caused by the [  ①  ] of large number of people from the rural areas. These people have become dissatisfied with the traditional life of farming, and have come to the cities hoping for better work and pay. Unfortunately, however, poor conditions in the urban areas, such as lack of housing, worsening sanitation and unemployment, bring about an increase in poverty, disease and crime.

  The only long-term solution is to make life in the rural areas more attractive, which would encourage people to stay there. This could be achieved by providing [  ②  ] for people to go and work in the villages. Facilities in the rural areas, should be improved to [  ③  ] a more positive attitude to rural life.
