Lesson 1. A Story of Two Seeds
It was early spring. Two seeds lay side by side in the warm earth. The first seed said, "You grew so much the last few days. Now, you're big." The other seed said, "Yes, now I'm as big as you." The first seed said, "But you're not as strong as I." The second seed said, "Yes, I am. Listen! Some children are singing." "Yes, it sounds nice," smiled the first seed. The second seed said, "I want to go out to the world. I want to see the world."
But the first seed shook his head. "Not me. I'm not ready. I want to wait. It's still cold out there." The second seed said, "But it's spring. I want to see the bright sun. I don't want to stay in the dark." It tried to push its root into the earth. It grew and grew, and soon it opened its bud.
